The Oyabunmodel is a collaboration with renowned designer Andrew Demko. His goal was to create a modern successor to the iconic Cold Steel Tanto knives in the affordable knife category without compromising on quality.

The handle, with its metal construction, is fitted with blades made from GRN synthetic composite with TPR. The Griv-Ex finish provides a texture that ensures the knife does not slip in the palm of the hand even when wet or wearing gloves.

For comfortable everyday carry, the knife is equipped with a sturdy metal clip for attachment to the edge of the pocket.

The dominant feature of the Cold Steel Oyabun is the massive 90 mm long, 3 .8 mm thick blade. It is made of German 4116 stainless steel, which stands out for its high corrosion resistance, excellent ratio between blade durability and easy maintenance - the knife can be sharpened to a high sharpness very quickly even with a regular sharpener or stone, andTanto geometry - the tip inspired by Japanese daggers guarantees exceptional piercing and strength.

The Cold Steel Oyabun is designed for lightning-fast but also safe use. Thanks to the integrated flipper, the knife can be opened with one hand in one brisk motion.

The knife also utilizes the unique Spring Leaf Locksystem . The classic Liner Lock type lock is complemented by a safety slider which, when activated, makes it mechanically impossible to release the blade. The blade is released by sliding the lock backwards and then pressing the Liner Lock to the side.
