Privacy Policy

This document describes how we process your personal data in connection with the operation of the svetzbrani.cz e-shop and related services. The processing is governed in particular by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data ("GDPR") and Czech Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on the processing of personal data.

2. What personal data we process and why

2.1 Order processing (purchase of goods)

Data processed:

  • First name, surname, delivery and billing address
  • E-mail address, telephone number
  • Company ID and VAT ID (if you purchase as an entrepreneur)
  • Information about the ordered goods

Purpose of processing:

  • Performance of the purchase contract — order processing, delivery of goods, handling of complaints
  • Fulfilment of legal obligations — accounting, tax documents, archiving in accordance with the VAT Act
  • Communication regarding the order status

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) and (c) of the GDPR

Retention period: For the duration of the performance of the contract. Tax documents are archived for 10 years from the end of the tax period (§ 35 of Act No. 235/2004 Coll. on VAT).

2.2 Communication via contact form or e-mail

Data processed:

  • Name, e-mail address
  • Phone number (if provided)
  • Content of the enquiry

Purpose and legal basis: Response to the enquiry; pre-contractual negotiations (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR). Without the conclusion of a contract — legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).

Retention period: Maximum 3 years from the last communication.

2.3 Customer account

Data processed:

  • Registration data (first name, surname, e-mail, phone, delivery address)
  • Order history

Purpose and legal basis: Account maintenance and facilitation of purchases — performance of the contract (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR).

Retention period: For the duration of the account. The account can be cancelled at info@svetzbrani.cz.

2.4 Sending commercial communications (newsletter)

When making a purchase and without objection, your e-mail address is used for information about new products, promotions and discounts.

Legal basis: § 7(3) of Act No. 480/2004 Coll. on certain information society services (soft opt-in). You can unsubscribe via the link in the e-mail or at info@svetzbrani.cz.

Retention period: 5 years from the last purchase or until unsubscription (whichever occurs first).

2.5 Participation in the ParaDrop marketing contest

Data processed:

  • E-mail address
  • Information about score, achieved prize and discount level

Purpose and legal basis: Provision of a discount coupon and sending of marketing communications based on explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn via the unsubscribe link or at info@svetzbrani.cz.

Retention period: Until withdrawal of consent, maximum 5 years from the last purchase or activity.

After the order is completed, the e-mail address and information about the goods are transmitted for a satisfaction survey. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). Objections at info@svetzbrani.cz.

3.8 Accounting and tax services

Data from tax documents is processed by an external accountant on the basis of a processing contract.

4. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Your data is primarily processed in the EU. Transfer outside the EU may occur:

  • Delivery outside the EU via UPS — the carrier may process delivery data globally (typically USA)
  • Google, Meta, Microsoft marketing and analytical tools — may use servers outside the EU (typically USA)

Transfers take place on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) and adequacy decisions (EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework, Commission Decision (EU) 2023/1795).

  • Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or outdated data
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — deletion of data that is no longer needed
  • Right to restriction of processing — temporary restriction of processing
  • Right to object — to processing based on legitimate interest or direct marketing
  • Right to data portability — data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to withdraw consent — at any time, if processing is based on consent
  • Right to lodge a complaint — with the Office for Personal Data Protection (Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, Czech Republic)

Rights can be exercised at info@svetzbrani.cz. The request will be processed no later than 30 days from receipt (the period may be extended by two months).

7.2 Automated decision-making and profiling

No automated decision-making or profiling with legal effects takes place.

7.3 Obligation to provide data

The provision of data is voluntary. Some data is necessary for the conclusion and performance of the contract or for legal obligations — without them, the service cannot be provided.

8. Changes to this policy

The policy may be updated in response to legislative changes or service modifications. The current version is always available on the website. Information about significant changes will be sent by e-mail or by notification on the website.

This policy is effective from 12 June 2026.
