Gamo Arrow Air Rifle, 4.5 mm FP

Gamo Arrow 4.5 mm Full Power Air Rifle

An affordable PCP air rifle from the Spanish manufacturer Gamo. The Arrow is a great choice for any shooter who wants to try air rifle shooting while saving money—the price difference compared to other PCP models is truly significant. But don’t worry—despite its low price, it delivers the same level of quality we’ve come to expect from Gamo air rifles.

The version offered here is the Full Power model, with a muzzle velocity of up to 305 m/s and energy of up to 24 J. These parameters depend directly on the type of ammunition used and represent the maximum achievable values.

The model’s name is derived from the shape of the straight-pull cocking lever, which vaguely resembles an arrow. Thanks to its placement, the cocking system is suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters. Simply press the lever down lightly, pull it back, and then return it to its original position. This original design is very intuitive and allows for quick and effortless reloading.

The entire Arrow series is designed for compactness, light weight, and ease of use. Firing occurs completely without recoil, which is due to the very principle of PCP: the air rifle has its own air reservoir, known as a cartridge, which is filled with air by transferring it from a larger pressure cylinder or using a special pump. After cocking the hammer mechanism with the lever and pulling the trigger, the hammer strikes a valve, which releases a burst of air into the barrel, thereby propelling the projectile out of the barrel.

The 125 cc air cartridge is located beneath the barrel, and a pressure gauge is located at its front end. The maximum allowable filling pressure is 232 bar, and at this pressure, the cartridge provides a substantial number of high-performance shots— up to 70 rounds.

Filling is done via a Quick-Fill valve located on the underside of the fore-end, in front of the trigger. You can fill the air rifle by transferring air from a larger bottle or using a special PCP pump via a standard quick-connect fitting with a 1/8" BSP external thread, which is not included in the package. The question, then, is whether to purchase a PCP pump with a quick-connect fitting or to buy a quick-connect fitting with an external thread for a standard air tank hose. Another option is a compressor for pressurizing PCP air rifles, which usually comes with such a quick-connect fitting as standard. You can find all types of filling options in the accessories section below the description in the “Power” section.

The 4.5 mm / .177 caliber threaded steel barrel is housed in a polymer receiver and measures 370 mm. It is fitted with a functional Whisper Fusion silencer, bringing the total barrel length to 528 mm. This combination ensures accurate and quiet shooting. The air rifle’s total length is just 990 mm, and it weighs 2,268 g.

Aiming at the target is made easier by standard mechanical sights featuring Tru-Glo elements—light-conducting fibers. The fully adjustable rear sight (both vertically and horizontally) has green fibers, while the fixed front sight has a red fiber. If the sights aren’t enough, you can mount an optical sight or red dot sight in the 11 mm rail.

The Gamo Arrow is also equipped with a premium CAT (Custom Action Trigger) trigger mechanism. On this two-stage trigger, you can adjust both the free travel (first stage) and the travel and resistance of the trigger action (second stage). A manual safety to prevent accidental discharge is located on the trigger guard, just in front of the trigger, and is operated by sliding it forward or backward. When the lever is closer to the trigger, the air rifle is locked; to unlock it, simply slide the lever forward.

To reduce weight, the entire system has been mounted in a lightweight hunting polymer stock that offers high durability and longevity. The stock’s ergonomic design and the shape of the ambidextrous cheek rest allow both right- and left-handed shooters to fire comfortably. At the end of the stock, you’ll find a ventilated rubber butt plate to absorb recoil and provide greater comfort.
