Authentieke replica van het bekendste Oostenrijkse merk Glock. Umarex heeft een licentie verkregen voor de productie van nauwkeurige replica's.
Net als het origineel is het onderste frame van het pistool van polymeer en de grendel van metaal, evenals de loop van dit pistool.
Deze versie van het airsoftpistool beschikt over het BlowBack-systeem, dat zorgt voor een realistische beweging van de grendel tijdens het schieten.
De 12g CO2-patroon wordt in het Glock 17 Gen 5 airsoftpistool in een apart magazijn geplaatst, dat uit het pistool kan worden verwijderd zonder dat het CO2-gas ontsnapt.
Het principe van het CO2-systeem: de CO2-patroon wordt in het pistool geplaatst en via mechanische sluiting op de pen geprikt. Wanneer je de trekker overhaalt, raakt de haan de klepstift en opent de klep. Zo begint CO2 gas te stromen vanuit de patroon, wat de kogel uit de loop stuwt.
Het magazijn bevat ook het munitie. In dit geval plastic BB 6mm kogeltjes en heeft een capaciteit van 14 stuks. Het kan apart worden gekocht als reservemagazijn.
Het trekkermechanisme van het model Glock 17 Gen5 Blow Back heeft een Double Action-ontwerp — omdat de trekker tegelijkertijd de haan spant, kan er direct geschoten worden. Dankzij het BlowBack-systeem, dat na het schot de grendel naar achteren beweegt, is de trekker voor het volgende schot lichter, omdat de haan al gespannen is. Een ideale combinatie.
De beveiliging tegen onbedoeld schieten is, net als bij het origineel, opgelost via de zogenaamde lipveiligheidstrekker. Je moet de trekker in het midden indrukken om de veiligheid te deactiveren. Uiteraard beschikt het pistool ook over een schakelbare veiligheidspal onder de loop, die voor- en achterwaarts bediend wordt voor het volledig ontgrendelen en vergrendelen van het wapen.
