De Ruger Mark IV is een luchtdrukwapen replica met alle originele logo's van het sportmatige kleinkaliberpistool van dezelfde naam.
Het laden van dit knikloop-eenschots-veerdrukpistool wordt uitgevoerd door de voorzijde van de loop te breken. Dat gaat vrij eenvoudig. Na het breken steek je een diabolo van kaliber 4,5mm in de loop en breng je de loop terug naar de oorspronkelijke positie.
Het loopraamwerk en het lichaam rond de piston zijn van metaal; alleen de metalen loopbekleding met de trekking is van gehard kunststof. Je hoeft dus niet te vrezen voor snelle slijtage. Het Ruger Mark IV Hunter-pistool gaat jarenlang probleemloos mee.
Een interessant kenmerk is de automatische vergrendeling van het wapen na het spannen, via de veiligheidspal tegen onbedoeld of per ongeluk afvuren. Dit systeem verhoogt zeker de veiligheid bij gebruik van het luchtpistool. Om te ontgrendelen trek je de veiligheidspal in de vorm van een hendel aan de achterzijde eenvoudig naar beneden met je duim.
Het Ruger Mark IV-luchtpistool is uitgerust met verstelbare mikkijkers. Meer specifiek is de keep volledig verstelbaar in zowel hoogte als zijdelings. De TruGlo lichtvezelmizzing aan de loopmonding is vast.
Het trekkermechanisme werkt uitsluitend in Single Action-modus, waarbij de trekker wordt gespannen na het breken en spannen van het pistool. Omdat het enkel de taak heeft het schot af te vuren, is het vrij gevoelig genoeg.
Het Umarex Ruger Mark IV-luchtpistool is ontworpen voor doelschieten met diabolo's van 4,5mm kaliber. De diabolo's zijn zachter dan de geboorde loop, waardoor loodresten in de loop kunnen achterblijven die de schietkwaliteit kunnen verminderen.
