Luchtrevolver Smith&Wesson M29 6,5" Diabolo
Deze luchtrevolver wordt geproduceerd onder licentie van het Amerikaanse merk Smith & Wesson, waardoor hij het originele logo mag voeren. De constructie is uiterst robuust en vrijwel volledig vervaardigd uit metaal, op de kunststof greep met houtdecor na.
De Smith&Wesson luchtrevolver gebruikt een 12g CO2-patroon als aandrijving, die in de greep onder de uitklapbare greepplaat wordt geplaatst. Om de druk op te bouwen hoef je alleen de afsluiting aan de achterzijde van de kolf in te drukken. Eén patroon is goed voor ongeveer 120 schoten, afhankelijk van de omgevingstemperatuur.
Het werkingsprincipe van het CO2-systeem is als volgt: Een kleine CO2-patroon wordt in de revolver geplaatst en via mechanische vergrendeling op de pin gestoken. Wanneer je de trekker overhaalt, raakt de haan de klepstam en opent de klep. CO2-gas stroomt vanuit de patroon en duwt het projectiel uit de loop.
Het munitie geladen in de replica-hulzen wordt vervolgens in de cilinder van de revolver geplaatst. De verpakking bevat zes van deze hulzen, speciaal ontworpen voor 4,5 mm diabolo-munitie. Gebruik uitsluitend loodmunitie van het voorgeschreven type vanwege de getrokken loop van de revolver.
Revolvers zijn doorgaans niet voorzien van een veiligheid, maar het model Smith & Wesson M29 heeft deze functie wel. De veiligheid activeer je door de schuifschakelaar naar achteren richting de haan te trekken. Om te ontgrendelen verschuif je de schakelaar naar voren.
De Smith & Wesson M29 revolver heeft een trekkermechanisme dat schieten in beide modi mogelijk maakt: Single Action én Double Action. In Double Action-modus wordt bij het overhalen van de trekker eerst het slagmechanisme gespannen, waarna het schot wordt gelost bij het voltooien van de trekkerbeweging. In Single Action-modus span je eerst de haan met je duim en druk je daarna licht op de trekker om te schieten.
De vizieren, bestaande uit een vaste korrel en een volledig verstelbaar keep, helpen je bij het richten.
