Het pistool is geschikt voor recreatief sportschieten en toepassingen zoals training en simulatie.
De constructie bestaat uit een combinatie van een metalen sluitstuk en een polymeerframe.
Het Umarex MP9 c pistool wordt aangedreven door een 12g CO2-patroon die in het magazijn van het pistool wordt geplaatst, dat ook als houder dient voor de rubberkogels met een capaciteit van 8 stuks. T4E TPM1 pistoolmagazijnen kunnen ook apart worden besteld.
Er zijn meerdere soorten munitie van kaliber .43 beschikbaar: rubber rubberkogels, rubber-stalen kogels, pepperprojectielen en paintball markeringen.
Het trekker mechanisme van het T4E Smith & Wesson M&P9c pistool heeft een SA - Single Action modus. De trekker trekt het slagmechanisme niet terug. Het heeft alleen de taak om het te activeren. De trekker is daardoor lichter. Voor het eerste schot trek je het sluitstuk naar achteren en laat je het naar voren gaan. Dit spant het slagmechanisme. Na het schot wordt de haan automatisch gespannen door het blowback systeem. Voor een volgend schot hoef je alleen maar de trekker over te halen, net als bij een echt vuurwapen.
In de trekker vind je een veiligheidspal tegen onbedoeld schieten, de zogenaamde trekker veiligheidspal. Dit type beveiliging kennen we van Glock modellen. De trekker moet in het midden worden ingedrukt samen met de trekker veiligheidspal om het wapen te ontgrendelen en een schot mogelijk te maken.
