La hoja tiene una longitud de 315 mm y está fabricada en acero tipo 440C con un acabado de titanio diseñado. El acero empleado es bastante resistente y a la vez fácil de afilar.
El filo es liso y de amolado completo con punta tanto, por lo que recuerda bastante a las espadas japonesas. La punta tanto se caracteriza por su mayor resistencia y capacidad de penetración.
El mango del machete Mach Tac 5, totalmente metálico, se complementa con una guarda de material G10. Las cachas son de madera de nogal. Un mango así montado es a la vez bonito y funcional.
En el paquete del machete Walther MachTac 5 se incluye también una funda protectora de nylon con presilla para el cinturón.
