La lame fait 315 mm et est en acier 440C avec une finition titane stylée. L'acier utilisé est très durable et facile à affûter.
La lame est lisse, pleine, à pointe tanto, ce qui rappelle fortement les sabres japonais. La pointe tanto se caractérise par une plus grande durabilité et une meilleure pénétration.
La construction du manche de la Mach Tac 5, entièrement métallique, est complétée par des plaquettes G10. Les plaquettes sont en bois de noyer. Le manche est à la fois beau et fonctionnel.
L'emballage Walther MachTac 5 contient également un étui de protection en nylon avec passant de ceinture.
